Volta Solar Ltd is a company specialising in the sale, design and installation of PV Solar Panel Systems. We are able to offer a very personal service and use only the best fitters and solar panels some of which include: Hyundai, Samsung, Sharp, Sanyo and Day 4.

We also use high quality inverters and have extensive experience in fitting popular brand names such as Sunny Boy (SMA), Power One (Aurora), Fronius and Diehl.

We are part of the Renewable Energy Association (REA) which represents energy producers and promotes the use of all forms of renewable energy in the UK enforcing further credibility. Under the REA by-laws, installers of domestic PV systems who join REA must also join the REAL Assurance Scheme. This scheme aims to guarantee a high quality experience for consumers wishing to buy or lease PV solar systems for their home. REAL membership is a sign that the supplier has agreed to abide by the high standards as set out in their Consumer Code. The REAL logo is a symbol of professional excellence.

The solar panel industry, although relatively young, is heavily regulated and ensures that we have to reach high standards in order to qualify for the Feed in Tariffs. The company installing your PV system therefore should be MCS approved.

What is MCS

MCS (The Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is a scheme, administered by Gemserv on behalf of Government, that has been developed by the Buildings Research Establishment (BRE) that certifies low carbon and renewable energy technology products and installers. Installers and products that carry the MCS mark are likely to be seen as a preferred option in the market place. Both the technology and the installer must be MCS certified to be eligible for FITs so we would not advise fitting solar panels yourself.

Who are the IWA?

The Independent Warranty Association has been in operation for over 25 years, providing peace of mind to consumers.  The association provides full deposit and guarantee cover to the home improvement industry.  The products that we supply come with full manufacturer’s warranties and we will guarantee our installation work.  However, as solar PV technologies are guaranteed for 25 years we understand that it is important for our customers to know that our workmanship is also guaranteed in the event that our company should stop trading in the future.

What do they do?

The IWA operates insurance backed guarantee schemes to ensure that you are covered in the event of your installer going out of business in the future.  They operate within the home improvement sector providing guarantee insurance for builders and installers of a wide range of products, from windows, conservatories to bathrooms and for installers of solar PV.  Our IWA insurance backed guarantee means that the whole of your solar generation system is covered and whatever the future holds you can be confident that it will continue to produce electricity for your home.

What are the benefits for consumers?

The IWA vet their members and monitor customer satisfaction on a regular basis.  They are easy to contact via their website or dedicated customer helpline.  The organisation is regulated by the FSA to ensure that both the IWA and policy holders benefit from statutory protection.  The policies that insure our guarantees are fully transferable should you sell your home and there is no excess to pay on any claim that is made under the scheme.  The policy will cover the work on your home for the specified period, without the need to renew it and pay further premiums.
